As a first solution, MAVIQ provides an optimised and centralised secure portal for Microsoft Defender as well as a comprehensive hardware and software inventory.
Microsoft Defender alerts and notifications are sent to IT managers in real time as required in order to ensure that workstations are adequately protected at all times. With the Local Administrator Password Configuration feature, a user can be provided with a personal local password in order to carry out temporary installations on their own device without the interaction of the IT administrator.
Central Portal
The central dashboard connects all of the licensed features and makes the latest endpoint agents available for download. The set-up of notifications, allocation of own mandates and management of users and roles within the portal is offered as standard. All activity concerning Microsoft Defender protection of the registered end device is displayed in the endpoint security section. The endpoint inventory lists hardware and software inventories.
Azure AD
MAVIQ allows fast and reliable sign-on in the central portal (based on Azure Active Directory) according to the latest standards. Initial user authentication takes place via a global administrator from the customer’s Azure subscription which is linked to the MAVIQ mandate. Access and user management is ultimately down to the customer.
Alerting & Reporting
To ensure safe operation, all activities are shown in the central portal and in urgent, high-risk cases a report is sent to the relevant address. This allows the security status of the end device to be monitored at all times. This monitoring begins with the installed modules MAVIQ agent, Microsoft Defender software and signature version to the last activities within the Defender protection on the end device.
Device Activity
The substantial MAVIQ agent sends the required information to the central portal via a secure connection for optimum protection of the end device. The focus is on the status of Microsoft Defender-protected clients as well as all activity and necessary data for the inventory. The agent represents a reliable, seamless information exchange between the endpoint and MAVIQ portal and runs on a Windows client operating system without any loss of performance.

With MAVIQ, common end devices can be incorporated into the latest Windows client operating systems from the professional area. x86/x64 architectures as well as Pro, Education and Enterprise Windows 11 editions and earlier versions are generally supported. The parameters and system requirements of the hardware, operating systems and Defender versions are determined by the manufacturer Microsoft.
Local Administrator Password Configuration
Individual users want to install software on their computer (e.g. for test purposes). To do this, it requires appropriate authorizations on the system or remote support from the internal IT department. MAVIQ can support this with Local Administrator Password Configuration (LAPCo) and provide the registered end device and the user with a personal local password in order to carry out temporary installations on their own device without the interaction of the IT administrator.
